| “ Joana Seara had, for me, the most enchanting and rounded voice of the evening, beautifully controlled and with signs of subtle colouring. She moves deliciously and teasingly as well; she already looks to have what it takes.” | |

Joana was born in Lisbon. She studied at the Academia de Música de Santa Cecília, where she took her first steps in singing. At the age of 11, Joana began singing in choirs, culminating in joining the renowned Gulbenkian Choir. Parallel to her studies at the Lisbon National Conservatoire, Joana took a degree in Media Studies; but singing had become her main interest and soon after she started working in an arts newspaper, Joana came to London to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She took her BMus, MMus degrees and completed the Opera Course in 2006.
Her career is now underway and the feedback has already been quite impressive. For reviews click here or use the menu. For Joana’s operatic and concert appearances click here or use the menu.
